Technology Idea update economy implications!!

Readers who like to closely follow technology might read this update.
Just as six years ago, the USA government invited HP and IBM to develop a cheap computer for the mass market. Released as the EEpC in late 2007. Now, the Indian government has invited their computer developers to build a $25 portable computer. I understand this will released in the very new future, like a countdown in weeks . Implications for the world economy?
Would be most interested in your opinion!!
My view is it shall be a step along the way to expanding world markets and boosting productivity, as much basic work moves to the third world.  Potentially,  an extra 2 Billion world consumers.  My perceived analogy is its like the removal of the Berlin wall, that introduced 1 Billion ex- communist peoples to the world markets.
